“If Only Gore Had Campaigned Like This”
Same thoughts I’ve had since his MoveOn.org Speech @ NYU. He could of ran this year, won by a 1/3… sans ennui.
IN YOUR FACE REPUBOS
FAHRENHEIT 911 ROCKS YO BIYATTCH ASSES!!!
I LOVE FRANCE TOO!! EAT ME CHENEY
Smack…Ow! Smack…Ow!
It’s about time that someone of Gore’s stature gave the Bush/Cheney cabal the double bitch-slapping that been so long overdue. I had a hint of Gore’s talent for this with his “Fear” speech mentioned by Wille Merle above, but gawd!
Question: Will the media have the guts to follow Gore’s lead? Will Kerry?
Al Gore invented criticism, facial hair, global warming, and the Internet. Truly, the Benjamin Franklin of our day.
The “Gore said he invented the Internet” meme has become the tell-tale of the second-rate propagandist, and of the credulous who only get their information from sources that, well, lie to you.
Want proof? Here are some sources:
* Al Gore “invented the Internet” – resources
* Did Gore invent the Internet?
* Snopes.com: No, Al Gore did not claim he “invented” the Internet, nor did he say anything that could reasonably be interpreted that way.
And, of course, the incomparable Daily Howler (page down to “From the annals of endless deception”).
So what if it’s not true, they have memorized a polysyllabic word through repetition. We should praise their accomplishment and encourage them to try even more difficult words. With time, they might even master “democracy”…
Then we can let them ride in the big yellow bus.
Little Al can handle it. It’s just a shame he didn’t feel free to cut loose in 2000.
Folks,
Ignore MP–I’ve been reading his/her posts on other topics and s/he seems impervious to anything but the Bush/Cheney party line. Put differently, there’s a relentless dedication to situational ethics, and nothing else will make the least bit of sense to MP. You’d have better luck converting Osama to Southern Baptism than reasoning intelligently with this truly amoral individual.
Or maybe MP’s a just a trained parrot who’s been brought up watching The O’Reilly Factor (“Awwwwk!!…Gore invented the Internet!….Awwwwk!….Liberals hate our country…..Awwwwk!”).
Pingback: too many topics, too little time
By the way Chris, how’s Al Gore’s liberal radio station doing?
Regardless of whether or not you agree with him, the fact is that Gore wrote that speech. Can you even conceive of Jr stinging that many words together without completely embarrassing himself? Indeed, I would love to see him write a two page essay on any topic of his choice. I honestly don’t believe he could do it.
Two pages is setting the bar kinda high…
Two coherent sentences would be an improvement.
