Having made a meal of the fact that a men's mag rated the University of Miami (college) as the #1 party school in the nation (UM Tops In “Scientific” Ranking), honesty now compels me to report that an equally “scientific” ranking system rates the UM Law School as only the 76th party school among the nation's law schools.
It seems that problem is that UM students are not very datable. Maybe they are too busy studying.
(Note: Yale is rated as the 12th best party law school in the country. Unless things have changed, or law schools as a class are grimmer than I ever imagined, this seems to overstate the case by an order of magnitude, at least.)
Of course the students at Yale are partying – they have it made with small classes, a student faculty ratio of something crazy like 3 to 1, no grades, great job prospects, hands on experience in stimulating clinics, study abroad opportunities at the world’s best universities . . . if that’s not a reason to break out the champagne . . .
“Miami University” has the least datable student body…I suspect that entity is the one located in Oxford Ohio, as opposed to the Home of the ‘Canes…
Ha good catch Jim. As soon as I saw the proper name of the school in your comment I knew what was going on.
I suspect UM ‘coeds’ are a bit more datable than Miami U students, and there are a heck of a lot more of them!
Miami U., unlike U.Miami, doesn’t have a law school, and this purports to be a list of law schools…
[But isn’t the term ‘coed’ about 20 years out of date? Also, it appears the ‘datablity’ here refers to how busy/distracted/unavailable both genders are.]
You made a point or comment about the term coed a month or so ago. Hence my scare quotes.
At the time of reading your comment, I was unaware that the term was old. But then again I don’t get out much, nor do I have many chances to use the word.
Doh, that is what I get for being lazy and not clicking through. Jim checked and saw Miami University on the list of least datable schools…while the overall party list included U of M…
Typo. Nevermind…
