UM President Donna Shalala appeared on the Colbert show the other day. She endorsed Sen. Clinton for President, agreed with Colbert that Iran is supporting terrorists and (with a little prompting) that they are “absolutely” the enemy and said she was against universal health care.
The high point of this fairly dismal segment may have been when Pres. Shalala said she brought her own pillow to cabinet meetings in the Clinton administration. Unfortunately, this was not because the meetings were so dull, nor it seems for pillow fights, but just to sit on. Or perhaps it was when she got that frightened look in her eye — surely a rare event — as Colbert asked this former President of the University of Wisconsin to imitate the sound a cheese curd makes when you bite it.
I didn’t catch the segment, but I wonder what Shalala’s doing about the thugs on her football team and why she let most of them off the hook for their brawl during the season.
“She endorsed Sen. Clinton for President, agreed with Colbert that Iran is supporting terrorists and (with a little prompting) that they are absolutely the enemy and said she was against universal health care.”
Ugh.
And for anyone not agreeing w/ shalala by supporting other candidates, feel free to speak your mind in UM’s free speech zone – has that area of campus opened yet? Otherwise, keep your trap shut and conform.
I think you are confusing Shalala’s office with the White House?
So how is free speech at the University of Miami? The only reason she has appeared pro college atheletics is for the money. This is not a person I would want to work for or even be around. I just had an unexplained recollection of Stephen King. Hmm, and I’m not a big fan. What could be the cause of that?
Sleep well.
Shalala said nothing about her current gig at UM (where her reign of error is still in force) and left little to the imagination about her ambitions to (re-) join a (re-tread) Clinton Administration. Colbert hit the nail on the head when he asked whether she wanted her old job back. As for Hillary’s campaign, it’s off to a dismal start, though compared to Biden, may be not yet DOA…a very disappointing performance by the pillow lady.
