The WP Google Weather Widget I’ve had in the sidebar decided for no apparent reason today to go nuts.
Instead of a pretty picture, I got:
Warning: simplexml_load_string() [function.simplexml-load-string]: in {directorypath}/plugins/wp-google-weather/wp-google-weather.php on line 162
The error is highly reproducible, so it looks like it may be toast, although I can’t figure out what might have changed on my end to cause this. Nor it seems can others.
I’ve substituted the WP Wunderground widget, at least for the time being.
Hiya. I see that yours is working ok. How did you manage to fix it? Many thanks. Andrew
I replaced the broken WP Weather Widget with the GoGadget Weather and Weatherforecast Widget. As the developer of that widget says he’s no longer going to support it, I don’t know how long-term a solution this is.
Thanks for that Michael.
I’ve started swapping mine over to the Wunderground one now. It’s better than the Google based one but lots of pages to change!
Your forecast looks very nice.
It’s official: the Google Weather Widget is dead. See Google Weather API: Never Supported, Finally Disconnected
