For years this site has had a Google pagerank of six or seven. All of a sudden it's down to one.
I know I've been boring, and posting less too, but that seems a bit abrupt?

How does the ranking measure those of us who read this on an RSS or other aggregator?
Google pagerank doesn’t measure readership at all, either directly or via RSS. Instead it measures “influence” by counting and weighing links. Links from sites that get lots of links count more than links from sites that don’t. So a drop in page rank means that fewer sites are linking to you and/or the sites that link to you are no longer being linked to as much.
The odd thing isn’t that the page rank dropped, but that it dropped so low and so suddenly. One means that basically no one links to you at all, and I know that’s not the case. So I think something is wrong somewhere, but I have no idea what or what to do about it.
The PageRank data server is known to be very unreliable.
If your Google search traffic drops dramatically, then I’d say it’s time to be concerned. If not, I’d put it down to a reporting glitch.
